Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Remove Photo Bg ("we", "us") processes when you use this website and its image editing tools (background removal, object removal and image upscaling), why we process it, how long we keep it and what choices you have.
1. Summary
- You can use the tools without an account. Your images are processed on our own servers and deleted automatically, currently about 24 hours after they are created.
- We do not sell your data, we do not show advertising and we do not use your images to train AI models.
- Visitor analytics run only after you accept analytics cookies. They are first-party: no third-party analytics or advertising service receives your data.
- For security and abuse prevention every tool request is logged with your IP address. The IP address in this log is removed after 365 days.
2. Data we process
Account data
If you create an account: your name, e-mail address, a securely hashed password (we never store it in readable form), an optional profile picture, whether your e-mail address is verified and the time you accepted the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy. If you sign in with a passkey, we store its public key. If Google or Facebook sign-in is offered and you use it, we receive your name, e-mail address, profile picture and account identifier from that provider, and the access data the provider issues for the connection.
Sign-in sessions
Each sign-in session stores a session token, the IP address and the browser (user agent) it was started from.
Images and edits
The images you upload, the results our tools produce, the masks you paint for object removal and the edit settings of a result (for example a new background or a crop). If you are signed in, your edits appear in your history.
Tool usage records
For every tool request we record the time, the tool, whether it succeeded, the image format, file size and dimensions, the processing time, whether the result was downloaded, your account (if signed in), your IP address and a salted hash of it, the country derived from the IP address, your device, browser and operating system type and the site language. We use these records to run and secure the service, to stop abuse and for service statistics. They do not use cookies.
Visitor analytics (only with your consent)
If you accept analytics cookies, we record the pages you visit, the time spent and how far you scrolled, the referring website and campaign parameters, your device, browser, operating system, screen size and language, the country, region and city derived from your IP address, and your IP address together with a salted hash of it. The location is looked up in a database on our own server; no external service is asked. If you decline or do not choose, the analytics script does not run.
Contact form
Your name, e-mail address, subject and message.
Payments
The service is currently free and no payments are taken. If paid features are offered, payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout. We would receive and store the amount, currency, status and the provider's reference numbers, and pass your name and e-mail address to the provider where it needs them. We never receive or store your card details.
Server and security logs
Our servers log requests and errors with the IP address, the requested address (with secret values hidden), the browser and, if you are signed in, your account. Changes made in the administration panel are logged with the administrator's account.
3. Why we process your data
- To provide the service you request: processing your images, keeping your account, history and downloads (performance of a contract).
- To keep the service secure and available: rate limits, abuse prevention, error analysis (our legitimate interest in a safe service).
- To improve the website with visitor analytics (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To answer your messages and send service e-mails such as e-mail verification and password resets.
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting records for payments.
4. How your images are processed
All three tools currently run on AI models on our own servers. Your images are not sent to an external AI service. The service can be configured to process a tool with an external AI provider (Replicate). We will update this policy before any tool is switched to an external provider.
5. How long we keep your data
- Uploaded images, results and masks: deleted automatically, currently about 24 hours after they are created. The history entry of a signed-in user (without the image) stays in the account until the user deletes it.
- Tool usage records: kept for statistics, security and billing. The IP address in them is removed after 365 days.
- Visitor analytics: deleted after 730 days.
- Server logs: 30 days; sign-in and security logs 60 to 90 days; logs of credit changes up to 365 days. The log of administration changes: 180 days.
- Contact messages: until we delete them after the request is handled.
- Account data: while your account exists. A sign-in session expires after 7 days without use.
- Payment records (if any): as long as accounting and tax laws require, also after an account is deleted.
6. Cookies
We use cookies that are needed for the site to work and for signing in, a cookie for your language choice and, only with your consent, analytics cookies. Details and the full list are in our Cookie Policy. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
7. Who receives your data
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that run the service for us and only as far as they need it: the hosting and network providers of our servers, the e-mail provider that delivers our e-mails, and, if paid features or Google / Facebook sign-in are used, the payment or sign-in provider you choose. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to receive it in a portable format, to restrict or object to its processing and to withdraw a consent at any time. You can delete your edit history yourself in your account. To delete your account or to use another right, contact us through the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, rate limits and automatic deletion of tool files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service changes. The date of the latest update is shown on this page.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us through the contact page.
