How to Remove a Logo from a Photo: Old Branding, Stamps and Overlays
Remove a logo from a photo you own: old shop branding, overlay logos and printed marks. Step-by-step AI method, tips for logos on products and clothing.

To remove a logo from a photo, open it in an AI object remover, paint over the logo and its shadow, and let the AI fill the area with matching background. Overlay logos in a corner disappear almost instantly. Logos printed on a product, a shirt or a sign take more care, because the AI also has to continue the surface, folds and lighting underneath.
This guide covers the most common situations: your own old branding, overlay logos on your images, and brand marks that distract in your own photos.
When you need to remove a logo
- Rebranding. Your business changed its name or logo, and hundreds of product photos still carry the old mark.
- Reusing your own graphics. A banner or social post you made for one campaign needs to work without the campaign logo.
- Distracting brand marks. A visible logo on a cup, a laptop or a T-shirt in your own lifestyle photo pulls attention away from the subject.
- Marketplace rules. Some marketplaces do not allow extra logos or badges on main product images; see Amazon product image requirements.
- Neutral images for presentations. Photos of your own office, event or product used in a context where a third-party brand should not appear.
A logo that marks someone else's ownership of the image is a watermark. Remove those only on images you own or have licensed; see is it legal to remove a watermark.
How to remove a logo with an AI eraser
- Open the object remover and upload a JPG, PNG or WEBP image up to 16 MB.
- Choose the brush size. For an overlay logo, slightly wider than its strokes; for a printed logo, large enough to cover it in one or two strokes.
- Paint over the logo together with any outline, shadow, glow or background box.
- Run the removal and wait a few seconds while the AI fills the area.
- Check the result in the before and after view, zoom in, paint over leftovers and run it again.
- Download the clean image as a PNG.
Overlay logos vs printed logos
Overlay logos
An overlay logo was added on top of the photo afterwards. It sits on whatever is behind it, often a corner with sky, floor or a plain backdrop. These are the easiest to remove: the AI only has to continue a simple background.
Logos printed on products and clothing
A logo on a mug, a bag or a shirt is part of the object. After removal, the surface must still look right: the curve of the mug, the folds of the fabric, the shadow of a seam. Paint exactly the logo, not the whole object, so the AI keeps as much real surface as possible. On textured fabric this usually works well; on glossy or reflective surfaces check highlights carefully.
Logos on signs and buildings
Signs are often flat panels with a solid color, which makes the fill easy. Watch the edges of the panel: they must stay straight. If the sign itself is the distraction, remove the whole sign instead of just the lettering, as described in how to remove an object from a photo.
Tips for a convincing result
- Work on one logo at a time when a photo contains several.
- Keep the brush tight on products so the shape and shading of the object are preserved.
- Check reflections. A logo can also appear mirrored in glass or a shiny surface; remove that copy too.
- Replace instead of remove. After rebranding, remove the old logo, download the clean image and add the new one in your design tool at the same position.
- Upscale small results. If the photo is small, enlarge it afterwards with the AI image upscaler.
Removing your own logo in bulk
For a large catalog with an old overlay logo, check first whether the original, unbranded exports still exist on your computer, your photographer's drive or the shop backend. Re-exporting them is faster and gives a perfect result. Use the AI eraser for the photos where no clean original is left.
